Embed code
Copy this into any page that accepts HTML (WordPress “Custom HTML” block, Squarespace “Code” block, Wix “Embed code”, Shopify page HTML, plain HTML).
The widget is about 360 px tall, fits columns 280–400 px wide and loads only a few kilobytes of data for the ZIP code a visitor types.
What the widget shows
- The 2023 USDA plant hardiness zone for the ZIP code (half-zones, e.g. 6b).
- The zone's average annual extreme minimum temperature range in °F.
- The 2012 → 2023 change for that ZIP code, where the ZIP code is listed on both maps.
- Links to the zone's planting guide and the ZIP code's frost dates on US Grow Zones.
It covers 40,502 ZIP codes in the 50 states and Puerto Rico. Zones come from the PRISM Group at Oregon State University ZIP code listings for the 2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map (1991–2020 data) and the 2012 listings (1976–2005 data). See the methodology. US Grow Zones is independent and not affiliated with the USDA.
